Junior Green has been a part of the hairdressing industry for well over thirty years, beginning when he embarked on a work experience course, and attending the local college in his home town of Bedford for a six weeks course designed to provide a basic insight into Hairdressing. Photography was Junior’s passion, so after leaving school, and the photography course he had enrolled in was cancelled due to the low uptake, he he was faced with the dilemma of which route his career would take. With not many options but either joining sixth form or working, his Caribbean family was adamant that he wouldn’t loaf about, and his father suggested he try Hairdressing.
Junior served an apprenticeship at Aquarius Hair salon in Finsbury Park for three years where he received excellent training. With a minimal salary considering he had to commute from Bedford to London, but he was still passionate and committed. Junior then moved on to work at Splinters of Mayfair in Central London under the watchful eye of Mr Winston Issacs, back then the place to be for Afro hairdressing.
Three decades later, Junior is an accomplished Hair Stylist who has honed his craft and worked as an Educator with some of the most established haircare brands, including Mizani Loreal, Avlon, GHD & Design Essentials, taking him far a field to Las Vegas, Brazil, Africa, and Europe.
