JAMIE METTYEAR

Jamie Mettyear is a highly respected leader with over 17 years of experience in the hair, beauty, and aesthetics sector, including eight years as a successful business owner.

Starting his career as an apprentice, Jamie’s journey has been defined by a deep commitment to quality, continuous learning, and empowering others. As Director of Mettyear’s Day Spa and Salon, he has developed a thriving business that reflects his belief in nurturing talent and creating exceptional client experiences. His strong focus on supporting individual growth through apprenticeships and further education has earned the salon a top 10 position in the Department for Education’s list of the 50 leading SME apprenticeship employers.

Jamie currently serves as Vice President of the National Hair & Beauty Federation (NHBF), where he actively champions the interests of the sector and drives forward key initiatives. He has also been appointed Co-Chair of the Hair and Beauty Route Panel for the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IfATE), where he plays an important role in shaping future skills and standards. Further demonstrating his commitment to education and the industry’s future, Jamie is also Chair for the Skills England education sector.
