Beginning his career at just 17, Andy Dawson turned down multiple university offers to pursue barbering full-time — a decision that saw him huge progress.
From student to business partner, award-winning barber, and international educator within one of the industry’s most respected modern barbering brands. He has since travelled extensively across Europe, delivering education, refining contemporary barbering standards, and mentoring barbers at every stage of their careers.
Andy is the founder of SIGMA Hair Studio & Academy in Aberdeen, a space built on precision, professionalism, and raising the benchmark in men’s grooming and barber education. Alongside a busy clientele, he delivers highly regarded education across the UK and internationally, known for his clear teaching style, technical excellence, and practical, real-world barbering systems.
At HairCon, Andy appears on stage in collaboration with the Men’s Hairdressing Federation (MHFed), reflecting a shared commitment to education, industry standards, and the progression of modern barbering.
